The Greek Path To Well-Being

In our modern society, we're often caught in the throes of work, technology, and sedentary lifestyles that can significantly affect our relationships, our health, and our sanity. According to Greece Is however, finding more meaningful lives is easier than one used to think. By following the Greek's path to well-being, we'll start living lives that bring us much more fulfillment!

Connect Meaningfully with Others

"A related challenge we face today is that, instead of relying on those we know for the necessities of life, we’re dependent on strangers and institutions for our survival. We don’t barter with neighbors, or even know where our food comes from; instead, we shop at supermarkets. We don’t depend on others for information or advice; we turn to the Internet."

Sharing and Caring

"Throughout Greece, building relationships through conversation is an integral part of daily activity. Stopping to greet others acknowledges their presence – their human existence – and tells them they’re an important part of the “village.”

Embrace Life with Zest

"The ancient Greeks taught us that life is short and ever-changing. Importantly, the need to embrace the fullness of life – all its ups and downs, joys and sorrows – with gusto and an appreciation for being alive is built into the Greek DNA. Indeed, to be “enthusiastic” about life means, literally, to manifest the spirit within!"

A Celtic Storytelling - Pot Of Gold

Following the highly successful series of performances of the 1st Panhellenic Fairytale Festival (2017),  the "Pot of Gold" team sets off for a limited number of appearances in the hospitable scene of Art Space (Xoros Texnis)"14th Day", narrating musical legends and legends of Celtic tradition.

Starting from the excellent collection of Celtic Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs (1854-1916), the "Pot of Gold" group delivers with honest respect, but in a free and creative spirit with the form of musical narrations, the magical world of Celts, where lyricism meets power and romance!

In a dreamlike environment of innovative lines and musical compositions, multidimensional orchestrations, melodic interpretations and kinesiological excitements, the Pot of Gold team approaches with the sensitivity of a "seanchaidh" the inwardness and richness of this tradition which was lost in in the depths of the ages and attempts to make reality one with the imaginary element  and coexistence of absolutely natural expressions of Celts idioms.

Performances:
Sunday 13/5/18
Sunday 20/5/18
Sunday 27/5/18
Sunday 3/6/18

*Perfomances will be held in Greek
The unique heritage with which Athens has been blessed is in stark contrast to the often chaoticdaily realities. In everything we do, build or aspireto, western values are intermingled with longembedded character traits. So which way forward for the city we love?

Dear Ladies living with chronic diseases every day,

I need your help with a huge favour. For the EuHIC Congress I have planned a unique and informative session titled: "Women living with a chronic disease and the economic disadvantages

Living with a chronic disease is like having a second job and I am convinced we are all aware of that. There are lots of discussions and decisions to make. It is also important for us to live independently. But what is with us women living with a chronic disease?

I have spoken and chatted with women across Europe who live with chronic diseases. In my experience it is difficult for most of these women to live with the daily burden of their disease, to find a good job, have a good life and also be well insured

Living with a disease requires more money.

Alternative therapy options are not always reimbursed by health insurances, for example special foods, clothes and lots of other things are often more expensive than their “normal life” equivalents. With a lower budget, there is a higher risk of social isolation, depression or the disease progressing and symptoms increasing.

In order to show real results and create awareness I want to carry out this session and I need answers. Please take part in my survey and motivate other women to answer.

For changing the perspective and create a shift.

Thank you very much for your support and help.

Every voice is highly appreciated!

New In Athens - NAMI Sushi Bar

Located in Glyfáda, NAMI Sushi is fairly new on the Athens scene, opening in April 2017, but there's already buzz surrounding this Japanese Sushi Bar. NAMI has gotten rave reviews about the amazing flavors they offer, the freshness of their sushi, and the spectacularly clean and friendly environment. While they are regularly open for dinner at 19:00, they also host events with live jazz and a lively atmosphere.

The menu is large with appetizers, salads, and many kinds of sushi, including Temaki, Hosomaki, Urumaki, Gunkan, Nigiri, etc. For non-sushi lovers, there's a choice of egg, buckwheat, or ramen noodles, as well as main dishes like Salmon teriyaki and shrimp and vegetable tempura. For the adult beverages, Nami has the basics covered with wines (white, red, and rose), a selection of spirits, and of course, Sake. Where they really stand out is with their collection of speciality cocktails with names like Jazzmine, a bombay gin infused green tea with jasmine flowers or the Hattori Hanzo, another bombay gin with fresh kumquat and quarto. So whether you like sushi or not, NAMI Sushi has something for everyone.
