You don’t need to be vegan to enjoy Yi; chances are you’ll enjoy the food just as much as you would in a non-vegan restaurant and maybe more. There are so many things to choose from: appetizers, salads, wraps, main courses, pastas, dips, desserts. Yi’s amazingly creative menu re-invents  vegetarian food and serves interesting intense flavors and unique combinations of ingredients. We wish we could have tried everything but so far our favorites are the no-meat, no-bread mushroom burger, the cold beetroot soup, and the Asian noodles. Desserts are great, too! Finally, the wine list offers a small but carefully selected variety of Greek wines as well as a couple of alcohol free options.

 

If you are vegan, Yi is a must visit restaurant; but even if you are not, you’re bound to thoroughly enjoy the creative, fresh and healthy dishes that the Yi team prepares for its health conscious clientele every day!

“Oenokentrika” is a wine exhibition showcasing the wines of Central Greece. Organized for the third time in Athens, by the Winemakers Association of the Central Greece, it is open to the public on Sunday, November 25, at the Grand Bretagne Hotel, from 12:00 to 20:00.

More than 180 wines from 20 wineries will be on offer during this stand-around, all day tasting event. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with wine producers and learn more about their wines and the wineries that are open to the public. Wines from Central Greece (encompassing two administrative regions, Thessaly and Continental Greece) are known for being rich and potent on the nose and full-bodied on the mouth, in other words ideal for the winter table.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to win magnum bottles of wine signed by their winemaker and make use of the show’s Photo Booth to take home a souvenir from their visit to the exhibition.

Following the dreadful wildfires in Mati, Neos Voutzas, and Kokkino Limanaki that killed more than 90 people last summer, a group of people – which wants to be called ‘the young people of Mati’– decided to send a message of support to the wildfire victims in California.

 

In an act of solidarity, the group took a series of black and white photos with the burnt-down Mati landscape in the background. Despite the destruction depicted on the photos, and the devastation the group experienced last summer, their message, is in fact, very compassionate: ‘we feel you California.” The group also wrote a moving poem for the victims of the California fires, called, "I Feel You California!."

The management of Pallas, Athens’ historical theater, recently announced that English supertitles will be added to its main evening performances. According to Pallas’ management, out of almost 1,500 productions taking place in Athens every year it is important that at least some cater for English speaking audiences.

 

Pallas is housed in an iconic 1930’s building and at the time of its opening it was the most remarkable cinema in Athens. Following a major restoration, Pallas was converted into a theater in 2006.

The Athens Digital Lab (ADL) is a ground-breaking urban project that was included in the City of Athens' award-winning proposal for the prestigious "2018 European Capital of Innovation" award. ADL was founded in 2017 with an exclusive grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), with the cooperation of Athens Partnership, Cosmote, and Nokia and its objective is to support young entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, and start-ups through the incubation of innovative solutions and original digital ideas.

 

Following the successful first competition, Athens Digital Lab is launching the second edition of its competition and calling for digital ideas that will improve the quality of life of the city’s residents and visitors while addressing the real needs of the city. For this year’s competition, applicants are requested to submit proposals covering one of the following themes: Tourism, Resilience & Crisis Management, Cleaning, Mobility Data, Schools Infrastructure, and Open Theme.
