Los Angeles Chargers Make History With First-Ever NFL Flag Football Event In Greece
The Los Angeles Chargers will continue to strengthen their presence and deepen their connection in Greece following their initial visit to Athens earlier this year, where they announced their fifth-round selection of the 2025 NFL Draft from the iconic Hotel Grande Bretagne in April.

In a groundbreaking initiative that highlights the team’s commitment to youth development, international outreach, and cultural heritage, the Chargers will host a series of events on Aegean Island, Santorini in October 2025, marking a significant milestone for the sport in Greece.

Bridging Cultures Through Sport

This historic visit will take place on October 10-12 on one of Greece’s most stunning islands in the world, with the support of the Municipality of Thira. This event underscores the Chargers’ mission to grow flag football internationally, especially ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where it will debut as an official sport. In doing so, the Los Angeles Chargers are not only promoting the sport globally but also inspiring the next generation of athletes by creating a safe, educational, and enjoyable program for local youth.

Through youth development programs, educational initiatives, and community outreach, the Chargers also aim to honor their heritage as the Spanos Family continues to celebrate their roots as Greek immigrants from the Aegean island of Symi.
