Athina Latina 2026: Latin America Takes Over The Heart Of Athens For One Day
From morning until late at night, Klafthmonos Square will come alive with rhythm, dance, and people joining in rather than simply watching. Athina Latina brings live music, dance, gastronomy, and culture from Latin America and the Caribbean to the center of Athens. This is the festival’s first edition, and admission is free.

The production is led by Yeloops Productions and the well-known Brazilian creator Dave Sousa, who lives and works in Athens, building cultural bridges between Greece and Latin America. During the latest Brazilian Day in Athens, more than 7,000 visitors filled the Zappeion. Athina Latina is the next chapter of that story.

The festival is part of the This is Athens City Festival 2026 program, supported by the Municipality of Athens and officially joined by embassies and representatives of Latin American and Caribbean countries in Greece.

Music Lineup

The Rosanna Mailan Orchestra will take the stage with Greek and Cuban musicians under the direction of Cuban singer Rosanna Mailan. Expect salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, and pop sounds stretching from the roots of Havana to today, with arrangements by Yoel Soto. This year, Rosanna reached the national final of Sing for Greece 2026 with her song “Alma.”

Martha Moreleón, a Mexican singer with a long-standing presence in Athens, will perform nueva canción, bolero, and songs in Greek.

Stivako presents La Saramuya, blending afro-latin, Brazilian rhythms, and Picó sounds from Colombia, spanning from the 1970s to the present day.

Nilton de América completes the lineup with a live performance rooted across the continent. Peruvian by origin, he combines Andean, Latin, and Greek rhythms on one stage.

Activities for the Whole Family

Dance workshops in salsa, merengue, bachata, and cumbia for both beginners and advanced dancers will run throughout the day in collaboration with Danza Sueño dance school. Traditional dance groups in vibrant costumes will alternate with DJ sets, creating a nonstop flow of music and energy.

Food stalls serving tacos, arepas, empanadas, feijoada, and desserts from across Latin America will be open all day.

A dedicated family zone for children will feature piñatas, games, and educational activities in collaboration with the Asociación de Mexicanos en Grecia.
