With great pleasure we await you at the 16th Annual Christmas Bazaar, held by the NGO "Friends of Merimna" at the Zappeion Hall in the National Gardens of Athens near the Syntagma Metro station.
You will have the opportunity to discover original and useful gifts, toys & games, homemade marmalades and sweets, New Year’s charms, used books in many languages for young and old, exceptional used clothing, shoes, purses and jewelry at affordable prices and at our Mini-Monasteraki you’ll find many wonderful treasures!
Additionally this year on Sunday from 12pm till 2pm, for the younger shoppers, we will have amazing stilt walkers, Christmas themed face painting, a place to write their own magic letter to Santa Claus and the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their Elves and Reindeer!
All of the children’s activities are organized in cooperation with Altamira Kids! Also on Sunday 2pm to 4pm, we will have live music from the group “Dusky Blue” to add some rhythm to your shopping pleasure! Finally, be sure to get your tickets for our lottery early where everyone wins from a large assortment of prizes and visit our Café to have coffee and sodas accompanied by a variety of homemade sweets and foods!
The proceeds from the Annual Christmas Bazaar comprise one of the major sources of revenue for Merimna to provide the following services free of charge.
- “Pediatric Palliative Homecare Service” A specialized interdisciplinary team (Pediatricians, nurses, psychologists & social workers) offers homecare and psychosocial services to children who have a serious, life-threatening illness, their families and all those who play an important role in their life.
- “Childhood Bereavement Counseling Center” (in Athens and Thessaloniki) Specialized Psychologists offer support to children/adolescents and family who are mourning the loss of a loved one.
