On Wednesday January 28 at 5:30 PM, you're invited to a WHENsday Workshop, part of the signature event series at the WHEN Hub designed to offer a mid-week pause for inspiration and growth.

This special event is inspired and co-created by XpatAthensMotherhood Guide, and WHEN Hub! It is a casual workshop and conversation in a warm space so we can explore...

Restless & Exhausted: Why ‘Doing It All’ Isn’t a Superpower

If you’ve ever felt proud of pushing yourself to the edge of exhaustion by doing everything alone, this is for you.

It’s for the successful woman in business who believes the only way to be taken seriously is by overperforming, every single day.

The mom who feels guilty resting and believes she should always be on top of everything.

For the single mom who hesitates to ask for help.

And for every woman who quietly wears the “I can do it all” medal as proof of strength, while often feeling taken for granted, overworked, and even lonely.

This honest, thought-provoking talk challenges the “strong woman” narrative and offers a new way to think about strength, help, and balance.

Because doing it all alone isn’t a strength, it’s survival.

Join us on Wednesday January 28 at 6:00 PM at WHEN Hub and be part of the conversation.

About Zaneta Intaite Founder of MotherhoodGuide.com

Twice an expat, and mother of a med student, 42-year-old Zaneta has lived in Lithuania, Malta, and now the beautiful Peloponnese, Greece.

Zaneta knows firsthand what it’s like to feel completely alone as a parent, moving countries twice, experiencing “depleted mom syndrome,” pursuing a career as a woman, rearranging life as an empty nester and mother of an adult, and even falling face down as a fresh skateboarder.

Grounded in science, psychology, and modern motherhood practices, Žaneta believes real growth comes from learning, trying, failing, learning more, and eventually getting it right.

She encourages women to challenge outdated narratives, support each other more, stop chasing a perfect balance, and focus on where they are truly needed today.

The Dream Syndicate Live in Athens

The legendary American alternative band The Dream Syndicate returns to Athens for a one-night-only performance. Celebrated as pioneers of the 1980s Paisley Underground scene and influential across generations of music lovers, the band will deliver a two-part show:
  • First, a best-of set, featuring their iconic tracks from The Days of Wine and Roses to their most recent work.

  • Then, for the first time ever live, the band will perform their seminal 1984 album “Medicine Show” in its entirety.

This tour coincides with the long-awaited reissue of “Medicine Show”, following years of legal battles through which The Dream Syndicate regained the rights to the album. The remastered release comes in a 4-CD box set and vinyl, via the band’s own Down There Records, distributed by Fire Records.

The Athens show features the band’s classic lineup:
  • Steve Wynn – vocals, guitar

  • Dennis Duck – drums

  • Mark Walton – bass

  • Jason Victor – guitar

  • Chris Cacavas – keyboards (Green on Red)

Since forming in Los Angeles in 1982, The Dream Syndicate have fused the energy of punk with 60s psychedelia and the dark, moody edge of early indie rock. Their sound has evolved over the decades while retaining the intensity, passion, and authenticity that define a band playing for substance over style.

“Medicine Show” has long been recognized as an underrated masterpiece, an album that demands to be experienced fully. Forty years on, its power, depth, and relevance are stronger than ever.

This Athens performance promises to be a celebration of sound, history, and spirit, honoring a band that continues to inspire, evolve, and prove why its legend remains alive.

FokiaNou Art Space is pleased to host the exhibition “HYDORerotics” by the contemporary art collective elementA, continuing its creative trajectory following the group’s recent and successful participation in PLATFORMS PROJECT 2025 at the former Tobacco Factory, with the theme “WATER.” The artists approach water as a fundamental element of life, a carrier of memory and transformation, and a field of philosophical and environmental inquiry. The exhibition unfolds as a contemporary “symposium of ideas,” where water becomes the starting point for questions about the flow of time, the relationship between humans and nature, ecological urgency, and the power of imagination.

With innate curiosity and a passion for possibilities, the HYDORerotics reflect on the fluid element, transforming their answers—or their doubts—into artistic gesture. Through installations, prints, paintings, original techniques, and repurposed materials, the elementA collective composes a multilayered and deeply experiential narrative. The presentation evolves across dark and light spaces, where the natural meets the artificial and the real converses with the imaginary, creating an environment that encourages observation, empathy, and contemplation.

The HYDORerotics propose an experience where art meets philosophy, ecological concern, and the human search for meaning. Visitors are invited to engage in an active dialogue about the planet’s most precious element, to reconsider their own relationship with water, and to rediscover the fluidity that shapes both the world and the self.

Curation & Organization: elementA Art Collective, with the support of artists Panagiotis Voulgaris & Mary Cox

Members of elementA Laskarína Karagianni (Athens), Iliana Kolovou (Corfu), Vani Koronaki (Athens), Vasileios Papaioannou (Sydney, Australia), Dimitra Savva (Larnaca, Cyprus), Efi Seitanidou (Athens), Kalomoira Tsoukalá (Athens), Sofia Foniadaki (Ierapetra)

FokiaNou Art Space is an active and open hub of artistic creation, fostering collaboration between Greek and international artists. In 2024 it celebrated ten years of continuous presence, having presented—under the curatorship of Panagiotis Voulgaris and Mary Cox—more than 70 group, solo, and interdisciplinary exhibitions, as well as workshops and talks. Its outward-looking character is further strengthened through participation in major international events, such as the TRYST Art Fair at the Torrance Art Museum in Los Angeles, the Athena exhibition in Karlsruhe (2025), and the SuperMarket Independent Art Fair in Stockholm (2023, 2019), contributing to the networking of independent art spaces and the development of a wider international collaborative community.

In a world where everything is easily replaced, returning to the kitchen feels almost revolutionary.

The Euphoria Series and Penelope Dimitrakopoulou invite you to a day of conscious connection on Sunday, February 1st. Step away from the noise and join an intimate gathering designed to nourish both the plate and the soul. Together with Agapi Micheli—professional chef, mother, and advocate for simplicity—we are stripping away the drama of "perfect" cooking to rediscover a more human way to eat.

This isn’t a lecture on right or wrong; It’s a real conversation about the quiet power of using what we have, respecting our ingredients, and bringing "care" back to the table.

The Experience Includes:

✨ Hands-on Workshop: Master zero-waste techniques and the art of sustainable cooking.
✨ Mindset & Connection: A deep-dive conversation led by Penelope Dimitrakopoulou on bridging the gap between our habits and our mental well-being.
✨ A Curated Lunch: An exquisite meal with intentional wine pairings.
✨ Private Sanctuary: Exclusive use of the restaurant for our group to connect in peace.

Why take a seat?
  • Shift Your Perspective: Turn sustainability from an obligation into a joy.

  • Learn the "How": Gain practical tools to cook seasonally and waste nothing.

  • Reconnect: Find the love that sometimes gets lost between the Tupperware.

If you feel like we’re speaking your language, we invite you to take a seat at our table and restore the love that sometimes gets lost between the Tupperware.

THEATRE OF THE NO, Athens first English speaking theatre, hosts «GILAD ATZMON'S BASS LESS QUARTET» for a special one night performance on Saturday, 8th February at 22:30. This exceptional ensemble brings together an extraordinary lineup of talent: rising Greek star Vironas Ntolas on guitar, promising drumming virtuoso Simos Reniotis, the enchanting vocalist Tali Atzmon, and internationally acclaimed jazz artist Gilad Atzmon on bass clarinet. Together, they promise an evening of music that celebrates the transformative and revolutionary spirit of jazz.

The Bass-Less Quartet pays homage to the rich history of jazz, tracing its evolution from the early 1920s to the present day. Their repertoire spans a century of timeless music, from soulful classics like "Willow Weep for Me" to Chet Baker’s poignant "I Fall in Love Too Easily." The group also infuses a fresh and authentic jazz spirit into reinterpretations of The Beatles and other pop classics.

For jazz lovers who feel disconnected from the complexities of contemporary trends, the Bass-Less Quartet promises to rekindle the belief in jazz as an art form dedicated to the pursuit of beauty against all odds.

For the first exhibition of 2025, FokiaNou Art Space presents a group show entitled “Athens Old and New”. This follows a tradition where since 2018, FokiaNou’s first show of the year has been a group show with theme of Athens. In response to an open call, 18 artists will participate with works in various media, responding to the theme of rapid and massive changes going on in Athens at present.

From the current building boom to infrastructure “improvements”, the growth in mass tourism to less tangible shifts in the local culture, the changes create the circumstances for reflection on how the city once was. The exhibition captures this particular moment in time, contributing to a creative dialogue and prompting the public to reflect on their relationship with the city and its constant transformation.
