When Football Legends Switch Fields: FootGolf At The Porto Carras Pro-Am 2026

World and European champions, with major titles and extensive international football careers, will take centre stage this year on the Porto Carras golf course. Porto Carras Pro-Am / PGA of Greece Mini Tour 2026 returns from 22 to 27 September 2026 at the iconic Porto Carras Grand Resort, bringing professional and amateur golfers from Greece and abroad to Halkidiki. This year's event combines competitive golf with a rich programme of side activities, showcasing both the appeal of the sport and the destination's renowned hospitality.

At the heart of the event are Porto Carras Golf and Porto Carras Meliton Hotel, both managed by SWOT Hospitality. The recently renovated 18-hole golf course will welcome participants in a setting of exceptional natural beauty, framed by the Aegean Sea and Mount Meliton.

Porto Carras Pro-Am 2026 gets underway on Tuesday, 22 September, as participants arrive at Porto Carras Grand Resort for the start of a week dedicated to golf, hospitality and memorable moments. On Wednesday, 23 September, teams will check in at registration and receive premium goodie bags featuring selected gifts and keepsakes from AEGEAN, Lidl Hellas, Domaine Porto Carras, EMÉNNA, Olga Karaververi, TaylorMade and Anatomic Line, setting the tone for the event from the outset. Players will then have their first opportunity to get acquainted with the course during the official Practice Round, before the day concludes with the Welcome Cocktail by Domaine Porto Carras at Porto Carras Meliton Hotel, bringing participants together in a relaxed and refined atmosphere.

On Thursday, 24 September, the focus shifts firmly to the course for the first round of the Pro-Am Tournament, where professionals and amateurs share the same competitive stage at Porto Carras Golf. Following the intensity of the opening round, the programme continues at Domaine Porto Carras with a Wine Tasting, an evening pairing fine wine with the distinctive atmosphere of the estate. A Cigar Tasting will also take place on the same day. On Friday, 25 September, the second round raises the competitive tempo before the programme changes pace with FootGolf featuring the Football Legends. The day concludes at Domaine Porto Carras with a Wine Tasting for event guests.

Saturday, 26 September brings both the competitive and social programme of the Porto Carras Pro-Am to an impressive close. The Open Tournament for professionals and the Individual competition for amateurs keep the action going on the course, while a Golf Clinic at the Practice Range offers an additional activity for those not competing in the tournament. Once play comes to an end, the event reaches its grand finale with the Awards Gala Dinner at the Olympic Hall of Porto Carras Grand Resort, where the leading figures of the week come together once again for an evening celebrating their achievements.

One of the highlights of the Porto Carras Pro-Am 2026 will once again be FootGolf. On Friday, 25 September, some of the biggest names in European and world football will take to the Porto Carras course. Leaving the football pitch behind, they will take on the precision, technique and unique challenge of FootGolf.

Taking part will be France World Cup winner Christian Karembeu, former France international goalkeeper Sébastien Frey, former South Africa international Pierre Issa, as well as Greece's UEFA EURO 2004 champions Theodoros Zagorakis, Angelos Basinas, Angelos Charisteas, Giourkas Seitaridis and Pantelis Kafes.

Their presence gives FootGolf a distinctive character and allows spectators to see celebrated football figures in a different sporting setting. Bringing football and golf together adds spectacle and entertainment to the programme and further broadens the appeal of the Porto Carras Pro-Am beyond the tournament itself.

The event will also welcome Antonis Tsapatakis, silver medallist at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, bronze medallist at Tokyo 2020, two-time World Para Swimming Champion and Lidl Hellas ambassador.

This year's event will support the non-profit organization Save Your Hood, whose mission is to mobilize citizens for cleaner neighborhoods, nature conservation, recycling and support during emergencies, including wildfires and floods, across Greece and Cyprus.

Important chapters in Greek viticulture were written in this vineyard, from the revival of emblematic Greek varieties such as Malagousia and Limnio to the first cultivation of Assyrtiko outside Santorini.

The estate will host two wine evenings. During the tastings, Domaine Porto Carras wines will be paired with ARIA Cheese by Real Greek Dairies, creating a dialogue between wine and cheese that highlights the event's gastronomic dimension.
