5 Years of Harmony: Celebrating The Music Academy Of Spetses
The Music Academy of Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses marks half a decade of nurturing talent and artistic growth.

This summer, the Academy celebrated its fifth anniversary, featuring five years of musical education, community engagement and studentachievements. Since opening its doors in 2021, the Academy has taught over 300 students and has seen its alumni excel in the music world.

This year, the number of students in the Academy reached 60! But the student count wasn’t the only number that expanded: the musical equipment of the Music Academy grew as well. A new instrument has been added to the collection, an oboe, enhancing the number of instruments instructed to eight.

In 2025, for the third consecutive year, an important project was executed: the “music initiation class” for children in Spetses, and visiting children of the island (for children between four and eight years old). This project was a huge success and resulted in an amazingconcert, carried out by the small children and the Academy’s musicians.

A wonderful illustration of the Academy’s tutors’ skills was the “teachers’ concert” which set the tone for excellency. Furthermore, the closing concert held in the historic outdoor amphitheater with the title “From Waltz to Tango” directed by the upcoming 28 years old Cypriot maestro Kyriaki Koudouri, was highly praised by the audience and the community of Spetses. During the concert the audience became a key participant byhumming along the famous melodies, together with the orchestra’s voice. These two concerts serve as outstanding examples of the numerous inspiring concerts organized this year. This summer, six concerts took place in different landmarks on the island of Spetses, while eight concerts were held inside the Academy. It is important to note that all of the Academy’s concerts and free to the public, proudly advocating music as a means of communication and connection.

Moreover, the Academy had the honor to be participatein the Anargyria Festival, which reopened its doors after 40 years. Professor Ioannis Aesopos, the President of the Executive Committee of the Anargyrios Foundation and its members have embraced this educational project withfaith and immense support.

With the kind support of the Academy’s sponsors and donors, the Music Academy has been able to materialize and to sustain its vision of international excellence in musical education. Furthermore, their generous scholarships have empowered the actualization of the dreams of less fortunate musical minds, who are now able to utilize and develop their talent.  As Leni Konialidis, the Head of the Music Academy, says: “The Academy, its teachers, students, and organizing team are now a family, which makes its identity so impacting and long lasting”, highlighting the importance of community.
