Οn Thursday 18 May 2023, the Museum celebrates International Museum Day, with free entry for its visitors from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This year’s topic ‘Museums, Sustainability and Well-being’ focuses, among other things, on the role of museums as places of entertainment, creativity and socializing of children, essential elements for fostering their prosperity and mental health. Within this context, the Museum invites families to visit the KIDS CORNER on the second floor, where they can enjoy fun digital games and videos that bring ancient myths to life, telling wonderful stories and revealing the daily lives of the ancient Athenians.

Additionally, families can pick up from the Information Desk one of the four family trails - leaflets designed for children and parents – and learn about the Museum exhibits in a fun and creative way. Moreover, families can purchase from the Museum Shops the new educational booklet “Ancient professions at the Acropolis Museum” and discover artefacts that transport them in different work places of the ancient Athenians
