October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and AWOG members have been in action since 2007 making over 7,200 heart pillows. They are handmade with love, exclusively by our members and delivered to the Athens Hospitals when in need all year round.
The heart pillow is designed to lessen the pain and discomfort caused to women after breast cancer surgery. Since 2001, when the project began at Erlanger Medical Center Tennessee, U.S.A. it has expanded in more than 50 cities and 80 countries worldwide.
