November 9 Strike In Greece To Affect Public Transport, Ferry Services
Public transportation in Athens and ferry travel in Greece will be disrupted on Wednesday, November 9, due to a 24-hour strike called by the country’s main private and public sector umbrella unions, GSEE and ADEDY.

According to announcements so far, on Wednesday:



Ferry employees will be on a 24-hour strike, according to an announcement by the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation, known as PNO. (Travelers who have booked ferry tickets for Wednesday, are advised to check with their travel agents or contact local port authorities for further information.)

Taxis will be on a 24-hour strike.

Athens’ metro lines 2 and 3 will operate only between 9:30 am – 3 pm.

The tram will operate between 8 am - 10 pm.

Athens metro line 1 will operate between 9 am - 5 pm.

OASA buses will operate only between 9 am – 9 pm.

GSEE and ADEDY are protesting against the price hikes in energy, and the impact of inflation and are demanding the protection of workers’ income.

Demonstrations and marches related to the strike are scheduled to take place in downtown Athens and other cities.
