Administration & Claims Assistant Wanted

DESCRIPTION

A well-known commercial marine claims consultancy is looking to recruit a full-time permanent Administration & Claims Assistant for their Piraeus office.

This is an entry level position which would suit a recent graduate or someone looking to enter the shipping industry and there will be opportunities to develop technical knowledge and skills over time utilizing written resources, occasional training courses and observations (e.g. hospital visits, ship inspections, seminars and conferences).

This role has three main elements, the principal tasks for which are as follows.

1. Office Administration: Including but not limited to general management of the office; liaison with private and public persons to ensure that the office is kept orderly and runs smoothly; accurate and timely completion of office filing; orderly document management of both electronic and paper files; general administration; management of IT systems, office contacts system and library; management of supplies and office stock; managing office reception, handling queries and acting as first point of contact.

2. Assistance to Managing Director: Including but not limited to assisting the Managing Director with both their personal and business administration as required.

3. Claims Assistance: Including but not limited to liaison with Clients and other third parties in the maritime community, locally and internationally, as required by the Principal and other staff; cooperation with our partners abroad; Note: There will be some role fluidity to meet the demands of the business and as the incumbent gains experience and expertise. Occasional travel may be required, particularly in the event of a large or complex incident as well as assistance outwith office hours from time to time.

Experience: Excellent English and Greek language and communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously with the necessary attention to detail; strong administration and IT skills across a variety of common platforms but mainly Microsoft office with an emphasis on Excel; a practical and commercial approach to problem solving; strong social skills that can be applied to a work context.
