Following the completion of the tender for the supply and installation of WiFi stations on the Athens Metro, passengers will be able to surf the internet while waiting for their train in the coming months.
The stations which will have free Internet for passengers are likely:
- Panepistimio
- Syntagma
- Akropoli
- Doukissis Plakentias
- Omonia
- Piraeus
- Neratziotissa
However, the second phase of the program provides for installation of a wifi network in all Metro stations, Railway and selected Bus stations. It is worth noting that special equipment may eventually be installed within the Metro trains, so passengers will have the ability to surf even during the journey.
