Roads around the Panathenaic Stadium in central Athens will be closed from 4 p.m. Thursday as the Olympic Flame will be brought to the arena to be handed over to officials from the London 2012 Olympics. The London delegation will be led by Princess Anne and the chairman of the London organizing committee, Seb Coe.
London Mayor Boris Johnson, Hugh Robertson, minister for Sport and the Olympics, and former England soccer captain David Beckham will also be part of the London team at the handover ceremony.
The flame will be flown to Culdrose naval base in Cornwall for the start of the 70-day relay. The flame is due to arrive in London for the start of the Games on July 27.
