We can’t imagine you’ve seen a DJ-sommelier before...! Or wondered what music would ideally accompany a Malagouzia or if tannins need ... a beat. In the Hilton Hotel’s "Byzantine" restaurant they decided to explore the relationship between wine and the DJ console, and on May 3, 10, and 17 2012, radio producer Kostas Zikos (KLIK FM, Nitro Radio, 95.2 Athens Deejay etc.) assumes the dual role, choosing tunes and labels of Greek vineyards, while the hotel's executive chef John Manikis takes care of the food. The price of the Vino Divino menu is € 30.
It includes four dishes (spinach salad with goat cheese, caramelized walnuts and vinaigrette of Dijon mustard and honey, salmon fillet with red cabbage, parsley oil and pancetta, brasato veal in red wine sauce and polenta or risotto with mushrooms and brie mousse with strawberry sauce) with unlimited wine consumption. You will find wine labels including Pavlidis, Kostas Lazarides, Skoura, Protopappas, Muson, Porto Carras and Oinomessiniakis. As for the console, starting with easy listening and then following the passions of the wine, the songs will be more and more uptempo (Hilton Hotel, Vas Sofias 46, Ilisia, 2107281400).
