PM proceeds with sweeping cabinet reshuffle

PM proceeds with sweeping cabinet reshuffle
Greek prime minister George Papandreou has reshuffled his cabinet, but left finance minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou in place in a move that many observers see as a signal of determination to follow through tough reforms. Analysts say the changes are intended to boost economic and social policy areas and appease voters angry with tough austerity measures, the BBC said. Greek daily Kathimerini Greek said that the reforms were not only of personnel, but also encompassed structural changes. Yanis Rangusis becomes co-ordinator of the government and interior minister, while Michalis Chrisochoides will head the new ministry of economic development and competitiveness. Outgoing economy minister Louka Katseli has been moved to the labour ministry. Andreas Loverdosis the new minister of health and social solidarity and Kostas Skandinalis is the new minister of agricultural development and food.
