The Athens cricket club a.k.a "the owls" were founded in the winter of 2006 by club director Nickos Geronimos and chairman Spiros Turkopoulos. The idea of creating an Athens based club was intened to not only help develop the sport in Greece, but provide a nesting ground for youngsters to learn and gain experience at a senior match level. "The Owls" curently compete in the Hellenic Cricket Federation cup, the Athenian indoor tournament, as well as the regular national competion.
