Car insurance companies have decided to raise the car premiums up to 15%, since the lowest compensation limit against damage to the car and bodily injury have risen as dictated by the EU. In a bid to pay as less as possible, drivers have chosen to exclude optional coverage when purchasing an insurance package. As per the new rates, the mandatory coverage for a 1,100 cc vehicle amounts to 320 euros on an annual basis. For a 1,600 cc vehicle, the mandatory coverage will jump to 400 euros. Finally, for 2,000 cc vehicles, drivers will have to pay 450 euros on an annual basis.
