City Reality Show at Technopolis

City Reality Show at Technopolis
The Vakalo School of Art and Design will present an exhibition at Technopolis in Athens titled City Reality Show. The exhibition will present ideas, dilemmas and questions about the phenomenon of modern cities, examining human relationships as well as political, social and economic functions. Don't miss the City Reality Show at Technopolis from 15 to 19 September.

The central idea behind the show at Technopolis revolves around three axes: urban space reality, the city as dazzling spectacle, or show, and contemporary Athens as a huge "reality show." The topics around which the exhibition has been developed include issues of aesthetics, the historical representation of the city, the experience of urban wandering, the types of pollution (natural, visual, noise), the relation between ordered planning and organisation, processes of monitoring and control, the role of immigrants in the function and aesthetic character of the city, various visual and architectural ideas for alternative uses and design of the urban environment and its objects, among others.

The works originate from a wide variety of expressive tropes and applications, such as: visual representations, architectural plans and models, collage, photographs, assemblage and three-dimensional constructions, leaflets and books, public activities, happenings, documents and objects.

The aim of the exhibition City Reality Show at Technopolis is to offer the public a holistic experience of urban space, based on the dilemmas and the imagination of young artists.
