The City of Athens Music Ensembles are staging a tribute to Tango Argentino under the direction of Yiorgos Katsaros and with the participation of well-known artists of the music and dance world. Argentine Tango, noted by a lively, sometimes leisurely and bold attitude, will overflow the courtyard areas of Technopolis in Athens on 18 July.
Eleni Peta, Argentine Bruno Dando and the TANGartO quintet will dance to Dionysis Savvopoulos, Astor Piazzolla and Matos Rudriquez, among others, in a collaboration that combines passion and theatricality and gives rise to a series of unexpected musical associations. It will be a truly impressive show, engaging all senses and aiming straight for the soul.
The City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, one of the city's music ensembles, will take part with the TANGartO Quintet, which consists of Lefteris Grivas (on bandeon), Giorgos Panagiotopoulos (violin), Thomas Kontogiorgis (piano), Panagiotis Samaras (guitar) and Theodoros Lazarou (bass).
At the end of the event, there will be a milonga (tango dancing) for the public.
