
Over 1 000 people took part Thursday in a protest rally in the Greek capital Athens in support of Kostadinka Kuneva, who was the victim of an acid attack in Greece just before Christmas, the Bulgarian information agency BTA reported. The downtown rally was initiated by the Federation of Cleaners and Maid-servants in Attica District. There was a protest rally in Thessaloniki.

They demanded that the perpetrators be arrested, and get their penalties. They also called for the unity of all immigrants in Greece, and for better observation of the labor legislation.
The protest rally in Athens continued in front of the Greek Parliament where the the organizers presented a memorandum to the Chairman of the Parliament, Dimitris Sioufas.
The rally ended with clashes between the protesters and the Greek police, which used tear gas against them.
Kostadinka Kuneva, who is the Chair of the Federation of Cleaners and Maid-servants in Attica District, became a victim of an acid attack last Christmas, and the perpetrators of the attack are still unknown.
She is still out of condition, and recovering from numerous injuries of her face and body, and it is unclear whether she will be able to see again.
