The Greek national broadcaster ERT revealed Thursday the three songs the Greek entrant Sakis Rouvas might sing at the 54th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Moscow. First released at the HILTON Hotel and broadcast live on ERT's website, the songs are "Out of Control," Right on Time" and This Is Out Night."
The song to represent Greece will be selected on Wednesday 18 February at the Greek national final in a spectacular night at the Athinon Arena venue.
Driven and smiling, Sakis Rouvas argued that his only goal was to bring the next ESC final to Greece. "I go to bed and wake up with that thought pinned in my mind," said he. This phrase best illustrates the optimism of a really experienced artist, who is accompanied by a group of distinguished people who will do their best for this year's Greek ESC entry.
Based upon his rich experience in his former ESC participations, choreographer Fokas Evaggelinos said a few things about the night of the Greek national final. Hostesses Betty and Mathildy Maggira will present a musical flashback from 1956 to date. Both the concept and the texts will be prepared by Greek actor Giorgos Kapoutzides.
The ESC entrants of Cyprus, Montenegro, Belarus will be invited to present their songs at the Greek national final. The Maltese entrant is also possible to take on the stage of the Athinon Arena venue.
Fotini Giannoulatou, ERT's PR head, touched on specific elements concerning the 54th Eurovision Song Contest. In particular, she said that Greece was drawn to take part in the second semi-final.
Johnny Kalimeris, advisor to the ERT President, made it clear that the jury to vote for the song to represent Greece at the Moscow ESC would be announced on the day of the national final.
