Easy win for Greece over Slovakia in Euro water polo |
Greece opened their challenge of the men's water polo European Championship in Malaga with a comfortable 12-3 win over Slovakia on Friday. Coach Sandro Campagna's men took the lead from the outset (first period 2-1) and with the half-time score at 5-2 the Greek team even saved some of its energy for the next matches in the six-team group.
The second-half's partial 7-1 score illustrates the strength of the Greek bench as well, since quite a few substitutes were introduced in the latter stages of the game.
On Saturday Greece are playing Montenegro in one of the most crucial group games. The top three of each group advance to the next round.
